Geeee. The last 10 posts or so really underline why a pay site is a bogus idea. And three, four competing engraving sites? How much time do any of you have to root around multiple sites a day?

Dave, I believe you're making a mistake going subscription. I mentioned this today in the other thread. It's not the nickel or dime a day it would cost, it's that most people feel online chat lists should be free. I would much rather you accept advertising and keep this site free.

But, whatever.

I am still finding it very interesting that sprinter has not given any answers to the totally legit questions posed in an earlier post. Also, the comment of having sent a pm to David that he obviously did not receive. There was an upheaval in this thread because of the perceived last minute "cat out of the bag" decision to change this forum. This deceptiveness in answering these questions honestly and publicly only make me wonder about the directions taken in the future with this free site. Also, could expressing his identity and working history make people worry about giving out information on his site? I mean coming from one of the "leeches" of this forum, I see that a forum of this caliber could be used to leech information as well as keep an eye on any potential competitors. I think sprinter needs to fess up and let us know who he is, maybe more of us would be willing to be a part of his free site. I have trust in our moderators here. Reading some of the posts that sprinter has made in here combined with a few that I read on the free site in reference to this site and or its moderators, I question if he may or may not be a morphed leech himself and is raising such a fuss about this site because it cuts off his free source of ideas. To a post Rodney made I pretty much gave my history on here (sorry to all of those I bored with that). SO, WHY SO SECRETIVE? The glass is neither half empty or half full; it is, however, ready to accept more.

They haven't since the name change was made. Must of been a very old post. When the name change was made the original database was lost and so was the EEF posts. We started completly fresh with the new name.

We are growing with our own format and not trying to mimic EE..org present format, so it would not be in our best interest to have anything refering to EE.org, but we do have a link to EE.ORG on our forum

It doesn't do anyone any good to have the "US against THEM" attitude, we both agree about a lot of things, and the main one is to supply an arena for members to share ideas, help each other, and have a place to distribute educational and instructional material.

In the end it is hopeful our members supply a better product or service to their customers. So I see it as a Win-Win for all involved.

I don't care if sprinter is a monkey running the forum. I don't think his credentials matter here and he didn't have to respond if he did not want to. It is not about him......it is their for the members to help each other and for new and future laser engraver owners to find answers. I am thankful for this site because when I first purchased my laser engraver I found alot of answers here that I did not get from my rep. (MIA) but I will not be hanging around when it goes to a pay site. Sprinter has started a great thing here for people who do not want to pay and for new laser owners who will not want to pay.

Just my 2 cents!!
