Gee, I try to get out some work and already am being inundated, (2), by posts to get this out.

Here it is, did not have time to look at it but it should be as great as the other one.

The F-15 was designed to not need glue for assembly, let me know if you have success.

Anyone can make a design, but to make it so no glue is needed, now there is a mind teaser >.<

Buzz...these are really great.

Not yet owning a laser, I'm wondering what material most are making these out of ? How much laser does it take to run these efficiently?

On 1/8" Baltic Birch, my 25 watt laser does it easily.

Doug,
You should be able to cut one pass with a 25 watt machine.

Yes, a single pass. I can cut 1/4 in a single pass also.

If not plywood I can cut probably 1/2 in a single pass.

Is everyone tired of my fun projects? :S I haven't heard from many who have made it. I played over the weekend and made a new design.

No, never! Keep 'em coming.

I'm having a hard time finding the baltic birch locally. I can get the plywood but I don't like the way it cuts. Is there someplace on the net I can order it?

Yes, you can order Baltic Birch on the net, but if you can get it locally it is usually much cheaper. I pay $7.33 for a 5' X 5' sheet, that is less than .30 cents a square foot.

If you know a cabinet maker ask them where they get their wood, this place will carry Baltic Birch (not always in 1/8"), but usually they can get it for you.

Also google your area for Hardwood veneer places, they will usually carry Baltic Birch.

I think the problem is our local Woodcraft store never has it in stock. Our 15 year old daughter runs a wood lathe so I'll ask at her next woodworking meeting if anyone has seen it locally. If not, I bet I could special order from Woodcraft.

Thanks and keep the creativity flowing,
Patty

I will never tire of the cool models that you create.
I built the car that you designed and it generates
alot of interest in my shop. It is a great ice-breaker for customers that are intimidated by the laser and its capabilities.
I downloaded the F15 today and will cut and assemble tonite.
Can I get the Tank model too?
Thanks and Best Regards,
Tracy

Tracy,
Thanks for the feedback, I haven't started the assembly instructions on the Tank, I can't seem to motivate myself :-(

I'm motivated to create new designs, I think I need an in-house assembly instructions guru, but since I don't charge for them I can't pay the person. The tank has 164 pieces to it :S  I don't know what I'm going to do.

I can't just send the designs out to somebody without at least some type of starting point, I'm open for ideas :O

Tom,

You could always bypass the assembly instructions and sell the designs as a "puzzle."

I'm game to try and help with instructions. My daughter is away at an engineering camp this week at the university but she absolutely loves working on these. She'll be designing in CAD this week and then testing in a wind tunnel so putting these types of projects has really been an eye-opener for her. Especially when she scaled down the Eiffel Tower project. She did an awesome job of tweaking the tabs and slots for the smaller scale.
