Buying supplies would be like a vacation
If the company had what I needed
All in one location

I could get in my car
Or perhaps rent a truck
And bring them back here
And save many a buck

The shipping charges are high indeed
The companies.. they get me "peed"
When this comes from here
And that comes from there
It seems they have nothing everywhere

I would go to one place
To get all that I needed.
One complete set
But now I feel "bleeded"
I must pay extra shipping
from here and from there
I pay them more money
And they do not care

And now that I've vented
With this little ditty
I shall sign off and think
That it all is a pity.
Oh, whay can't they have all
In every fac-tory
Then I'd have a happy ending
To this little sto-ry.

Your statement is valid and I see your point,
that's why we try to keep most in one joint.....

But sometimes it's hard to not do drop-shipping,
in order to keep customer service from slipping....

Unfortunately even we vendors pay freight,
and often expedited so you don't wait....

No we're not perfect though problems are rare,
but please don't assume that none of us care!

Sorry, guess it's a bit slow here too! :-)

I understand all you say
My helper's working
So it's a slow day

Most of the time my suppliers come through
I can fill all my orders
With not much ado

They're friendly and helpful
And do try their best
So I guess I'll forgive them
For I'm truly blessed.

Happy Fourth, all

Must be a slow day indeed.
The glass is neither half empty or half full; it is, however, ready to accept more.

Orders stacking up, but never worry,
Check the clock; it's nearly three-thirty!

How did the day go by so fast?
Man, this industry is a total blast!

Last pick of the day, no time to stall,
It's a rush job, but aren't they all?

I hear UPS coming up the drive,
That last customer will skin me alive!

Pick it, check it, record the weight,
Pack it, tape it, it's not too late!

I get it done, as she walks in,
Beads of sweat, devilish grin.

I hit the button, hand her the slip,
She scans the barcode, I hear the "blip".

The terminal closes at five-thirty,
Big brown truck, you'd better hurry!

It's Friday night, my week is done,
High-Five the boss - that was fun!

I head home, great kids, lovely wife,
And I think to myself ... what a crazy life!

I'm glad you see my thoughts were pensive
I wasn't trying to be defensive
but we're here to fill a need
and do our best so you succeed

After all, if you don't sell
our inventory won't move well
but if engraving's aggrivating
maybe next try sublimating!

:-)

Have a great Fourth!

I tried sublimation, knew all about the inks,
Discovered for my business this process stinks.

Others have had some great success,
Not for me, although I kept my heat press.

I couldn't let go, bought some toner from Jack,
Now I'm back in the game, making plaque after plaque.

Better get to work, have to drill perpetual holes,
But right now I'm craving some Zona cinnamon rolls.

I'm sitting here, laughing out loud,
at the funny verse from the EE crowd.
To the people that burn the candle at each end,
I wish you all a great holiday weekend.

Dave,

I'll take advantage of the timin'
to jump in on the rhymin'.

Inventory management has to be rough,
which is why I engrave other people's stuff.

No worries about what to stock
or attempting to beat the clock.

Not saying it's the perfect cure,
but it's allowed me to endure.

Sorry subbing is not for you
what, don't like your green grass blue?
At least subbed product's in full color
text on brass is much more duller

But I digress from stock, instead
I should have stayed out of this thread
a good thing this is not for puns
or I'd ask more about Zona's "Buns"

In poetry you're sure no maven
perhaps your work is what they're cravin'
You better keep yourself clean shaven
and stick with what you know, engravin'!

Poetry's never been my bag.
My words just "zig" when they should "zag".

But I thought that this was fitting,
Though close to home it may be hitting:

. . .roses are red
. . . .violets are blue
. . .i'm a schizophrenic
. . . .and so am i

As you see above, I just can't rhyme
I might try again if I find the time.

If you are a schizophrenic,
Go back to the clinic,
If you have the time.
They may help you rhyme.
