Hello All,

Is anyone aware of a supplier of 10" glass nameplates made of various colored glass? See attached picture as an example.

I located a company who offers 7 different colors. I see this as a great option to offer my customers.

Joe,

The retail company that I ran across is Rivanna Natural Designs in Charlottesville, VA. Below is a link to some of the products they are retailing.

I really like the colors and the additional sales opportunities it may open up for those that do glass etching and colorfill.

I made a call to Rivanna this morning but only got an answering machine. I will let everyone know what I find out when they call back.

Joe and All,

Crystal with Rivanna Natural Designs was as pleasant as ever and very willing to share her sources. One may get the impression that she were a member of this forum.

Put your seat belt on! The company that makes the recycled glass pieces she sells is a non-profit organization that supports St. Vincent DePaul in Eugene, Oregon. Not only do they have standard items, but they will also do custom shapes with a reasonable amount of lead time.

The name of the supplier is Aurora Glass in Eugene, Oregon. The contact person is Patty Lomont, who can be reached at 888-291-9311. They also have a website at http://auroraglass.org.

Get in line, I'll be placing my order today.

P.S. She also gave me a link to another company that has a few unique glass pieces. Check out http://www.bedrockindustries.com.

David,

Crystal must be a gem. It's uncommon for someone with an unusual (and desireable) item to reveal their source.

She must be a forum member somewhere :-)

David,

Crystal's company does a lot of in-house custom woodwork and personalizes with laser engravers. She has been collecting information on sandblasting and is going to be offering that as well. I referred her to this forum and she will assuredly be coming with questions to bare.

I know Rivanna, though I've never worked with them personally. They're practically down the street and around the corner from me.

Greetings, Crystal, from Hightech Signs. Glad to see Fred found a place to sell his clocks. :)

That's in my town! St. Vinnie's Aurora Glass is well known in this area, but I didn't know they were selling to others - so far they've been making the pieces here and sandblasting them also. They've got a whole little business going. Which is a catch 22 - they are not as bad as Goodwill, as they are in the marketplace with prices that are similar to our prices. They are not selling dirt cheap for finished pieces or even for blank pieces.
Now that I know they are selling blanks, I'll be contacting them to buy from them too - their stuff is way cool.

I am continually AMAZED at how open the majority of people are in this industry.

It warms my heart.

Thank you all. I cannot wait until the day I have something to give back.
