I know this folder is Corel Draw, this is probably the wrong place for this question, but, it is, I hope a simple computer question and you guys and gals have been so great with the Corel question I was hopeful you could help me. :-)

With that said, I am all of a sudden not able to view certain webpages when on the internet. I have not had this problem before, but now do. I haven't changed anything.

I had an email with a link from GCC and when I clicked on the link to their page, I got a new window with a blank page and the title bar said the page was done. This happened the other day everytime when I was trying to do webpage work online.

Any ideas? I thought I had some block, but I can't see anything in my tool options. This has me frustrated, as I know, or hope, that it is something so simple I am over looking. :S  I use fireox if that matters.

While I don't condone the use of IE, have you tried IE to see if you have the same problem? Frontpage developed websites are notorious for developing non-standards conforming web pages. Yes, they can be viewed with IE, but that doesn't mean they are written to the standards. If it is just certain pages that you cannot view, I would suspect that the pages themselves are poorly coded.

Have you tried clearing your cache? Have you tried SHIFT-Reload? Do you have the most recent version of Firefox? Are you running any blocking software (spam, firewall, etc)?

Hi,

Thanks for responding. I have not tried IE I will see if that matters. I know it is not frontpage, as my own web site that is not fontpage is one of the problems.

I did update firfox and clear cahce, relaod and such. I think it is with a firewall or something like that in my program. But, I can't find anything that seems to be it.

Thanks for the help. I guess I will continue to play around when I can and figure this out sooner or later! :S

Try shutting off your firewall/ad-blockers and see if that's it (remember to reload it when done playing). Also, try having someone else go to the site to make sure it's still actually up.

Sometimes "you" didn't change anything, but someone else might have. Or the software you run might have downloaded an update which changed your setting for you.

If you're running XP Service Pack 2 the popup blocker could be blocking it.

Here's a link: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/web/sp2_popupblocker.mspx

I had a big frustration when my site host did an upgrade. They disallowed global variables from being accessed from the outside.

In my web pages I had to grab the globals from within the PHP page to use them.

Maybe something similar?

Harvey,

Well, that is something I never heard of before. I will have to do some checking on that one :S

I know I use Firefox, maybe I will try IE and see if it does it too. Then start checking other things. Luckily I haven't had to do much with this lately, but will have to soon. So, better figure it out :'-(

Thanks,
