Due to a family crisis I am selling my Barudan Elite Pro embroidery machine. It is only 2 years old and in excellent condition. The standard hoop package is included.

I paid almost $15,000 for it new and will take $11,000. I can deliver within a reasonable distance from Iowa.

Rebecca,

I'm sorry to hear of your crisis, there seems to be a little of that going around. To help you out, here is a LINK to a product description of your equipment.

If someone wanted to finance your selling price over 5 years the payment would be about $225-$230 per month at today's interest rates.

Did having a single-head machine lead to any higher-quantity orders that you outsourced?

Dave,

Thanks for the help. I should have thought of that.

Most of our customers didn't know what we had for equipment and we never told them if we outsourced. We only had a couple of orders that were too large for us to do. Once people get to know you, I would say absolutely it can, but the pricing is very different from doing it inhouse on a single head.

I've got a cousin who owns a Hometown Threads franchise located inside a WalMart in Plano, Texas. She has done an excellent job growing her business via a single head machine, then outsourcing the volume orders. Her customers are none the wiser.

Did you get your machine through Schurke & Associates?

Yes, I bought it from Charlie. He is aware that I am selling.

Rebecca,

Just me being nosey and I apologize in advance.

I always hate to hear of our forum members in distress.

Are you regrouping, or getting out of the embroidery/sublimation business altogether?

The business hasn't done much for the past several months and I need to re-group. Real life got in the way. I plan on continuing the business with some drastic changes, but it will be part-time. As soon as I can, I will re-purchase equipment.

My husband is disabled and we finally settled his workman's comp after 4 years. That got us through the summer. We are still fighting social security disability for him though and that goes to court in Nov. Our daughter has had a situation where the father of her child took the little boy and she has been fighting for custody for almost a year. (a very long story). As I said real life has just gotten in the way too much.

I am in serious need of $$ immediately and my equipment is the quickest thing I can sell --- unless someone wants to buy some of my horses. There is no way to borrow money so sometimes you just do what you have to do. I am trying to go back to work as a computer programmer, but it takes time to find a position.
