I understand simplistic much better than overly elaborate... :-)
Part of the problem is that it looks like it has snapped to the intersection until I zoom way in - then you can see how far off it is. There aren't any other possible snaps close to this so I am not sure why it isn't working.
I just tried a little experiment. I started with a new, blank drawing, drag a vertical and horizontal guideline to anywhere on the page. Next draw a circle, any size (mine was 2"). Went to "View" and "snap to guidelines" is checked. Click and drag the circle to the intersection until you see the "intersection" snap turn blue. Drop the circle. Zoom in as far as you can zoom and see what happens. With mine the circle is nowhere near the center.
The best thing about problems like this is that they will end up eliminating my need for shampoo - after I pull all of my hair out...
