Anyone out there who's been sucessful in connecting a Xenetech controller/software to a Newing Hall 350 table w/cylindrical?. I tried it once and blew up my controller!!. I have 2 cables supplied by Xenetech, one marked "TLC200" the other "TLC300", cant remember which one blew up the controller!!, but the "other one" didn't work either, if my memory serves me correctly on that fatefull day!!. I's there any fool proof method of achieving this?
I would even carry on using the NH Apex controller if I could run it using the Xenetech XLG software.
any help would be appreciated & thanx

You might get it to work with the Newing-Hall HPGL controller, But I doubt the Apex will ever work.

I'm late to this but am curious myself. My 350 (Domiteaux bought in 1986) is really going down hill. Never thought it would last this long but, it's skipping steps and basically, engraving where it wants.
I spoke to Roy Brewer and he echoed that it's very possible for a Xenetech to 350 conversion to cause irreversible problems. I'm currently looking at some new system that will engrave bowls bigger than my Xenetech could. I do enough round bowls, cups and mugs that I fear I have no choice but to replace it which I am not comfortable $$$$ wise.
Does anyone know if these old controllers can be repaired? I'm not even sure at this point if it's the table or the controller as even simple, not cylindrical items don't engrave properly.

Not wanting to knock anyone out of a sale especially the wonderful folks at Engraving Concepts (Brewer Sales) but ..... I would consider calling Fred Swartz at Quality One engravers - http://www.q1engravers.com/ if I wanted to talk repair on an engraving machine. I think Fred and his folks will not steer you wrong on the possibilities and pitfalls of repairing your older machine.
If I were going to have to buy a new machine and lived where you do - I would run to Engraving Concepts!!

Why not rebuild the 350 ?? New controller will handle XP and you can get out of DOS..

I would truly consider this option. Fred is a genius in machine rejuvination and extended life enhancement. He can truly work out your machine problems.

If it can be repaired and enhanced to do what you want it to do...at thousands less than new...Fred is the person to speak to.

If Fred cant do it...it cant be done.

Just talked to him today. I explained that my Domiteaux works sometimes and not others. It either locks and beeps or engraves out of step. He guestimated $400 to take the controller apart and reseat and solder everything. I didn't go any further. If I can get another year or 2 for that, I'm in.
I plan on sending it in after the first of the year as I need it now. He thinks 2-3 days on the bench is all it takes.

After I'm thru, I'll try to remember to post back with all smiles.
Thanks to all who recommended him....he certainly has me convinced he knows what he's doing.
