You're probably right in your thinking ($10) based on the amount of work you'll be doing.
A customer, or middleman, telling you what price will "fly" can sometimes be a good barometer, but only if the volume and the ability to establish an efficient workflow is there.
Most often, they're telling you what they would "like" to pay, without any knowledge of the nuts and bolts and how time-consuming a job like that can be.
