Although Permanent Impressions is the name of a recently-formed entity, you'll certainly recognize the names involved.

Yes, it's true!

Our friends Thom and Terry Price, of Atomic Art, LLC have collaborated with Permanent Impressions, Inc.

The patented process of generating 4-color images on glass and ceramics will continue to be called Atomic Art, with the magical compounds being supplied by Thermark.

Originally, there was mention of an exclusive relationship between Atomic Art and Trotec. Now, the door has been kicked open to most major laser manufacturers, with profiles created for their respective machines.

Of course, seeing is believing and you'll be able to do just that, if you attend the upcoming ARA Las Vegas show!

David,

Isn't this supposed to be in the "Members only" section? :O)

Are they going to offer a "Special Deals" announcement for the forum? :-)

Steve,

Now that you bring up Special Deals, I was told that Thermark will be adding to the list of door prizes for the Beach Party.

I'm looking forward to seeing Thom and Terry again in Las Veags.

I won't have to eat crow this time. :-)

Members section?

One big happy members section at this point. :-)

Even though I won't be there, I appreciate all the help I have received to get me started.... this is to help others continue!

I am contributing a door prize! While not big and expensive, I am sure that it will help the winner to continue to produce some of the prizes being offered by the regular suppliers.

I am donating one, very hard to find, mandatory for maintenance on pantograph and rotary engravers item!

A new, unopened, never used, 3 ounce tube of the original SUPER LUBE Synthetic Grease!

It is:
Highly lubricious, clear and non-toxic
Excellent dialectric and impervious to salt water! (Yes, Chuck! It CAN be used in the middle of the Pacific! )

Gratefully!
Steve

"Isn't this supposed to be in the "Members only" section? :O) " Getting groups confused I think? WOE currently has a members only section.

You are correct.... on WOE it would be in the members only section.

Here, it is just my way of giving David a dig.... the fact that here where it was announced over a year ago that it will be a paid membership forum, everything is still free and in the "free" forum everything (except the posts) is going into the paid section.....

Just a chance to take two shots with one bullet.... ;-)

While this tangent relates to an interesting turn of events, and in some ways, is Industry News, it has the potential to get out of hand.

Please keep this thread on the topic of the newly-formed company, Permanent Impressions.

Sometimes I come on here just to get enlightened. I do agree that the "digs" need to stop or, at least do them in a PM setting, not the thread itself. When this site goes pay, it will go pay. I could easily get into one of my outburst phases here, but it would serve no purpose, so exit stage left and segua back to the original topic.

Here's an email update I received from Atomic Art.

=============================================

Atomic Art Update
January 2007

To all of you who have patiently awaited the opportunity to learn how to
laser engrave; permanently embedded color images into Tile, Glass or
Stone, THE TIME IS NOW!

Atomic Art, LLC has collaborated with Permanent Impressions, Inc. and we
have moved into our 1800 sq. ft. Training and Customer Service Facility
in Las Vegas. Training will commence in March. We are now scheduling
applications for training through our website Contact us:
http://www.atomicartimages.com/

Now, for the first time ever, your laser can produce vibrant four-color
images, permanently embedded into the substrate, allowing unlimited
creative applications such as, Shower Enclosures, Kitchen
Backsplashes, Custom Border Tiles, Entryway Doors, Entryways, Hearths,
Cabinet Doors, Monuments, Mausoleums, Monument Inserts and Flooring.
Your imagination is the only limit to the application possibilities.

LASERS IMPLEMENTED

GCC - LASERPRO, TROTEC, UNIVERSAL and VYTEK users are encouraged to
enroll and schedule a class that fits the needs of your business. Class
size limitations will determine availability for scheduling, in other
words first come first serve. It is essential that we keep the classes
as small and personal as possible to guarantee a successful outcome.

The introductory cost of each license is $4,495.00 for the first 12
people who enroll and includes a customized license that guarantees an
exclusive territory in your expertise for Glass, or Stone and Tile. If
you want to train for both surfaces let us know on the questionnaire.

We Will Begin Our Initial Training Designed For Select Businesses In
March 2007. We are taking reservations now.

1. Contact us through the Web site and tell us some things about your
business. We will then forward you a questionnaire; please fill out, as
completely
as possible

2. Plan on 3 full days of training here in Las Vegas.

3. We can arrange on-site training for an additional charge starting in
May.

4. Licenses are paid in advance of training. The cost of instruction is
included in the License fee. You will be provided important information
in advance to study.

5. Our goal is to make certain each Atomic Art Licensee is successful
and we will limit the size of training classes to no more than one
student per instructor.

6. A buddy training system can be arranged to family owned businesses

I'm amazed that Epilog isn't one of the lasers that was implemented.

David,

I found that surprising. Epilog must have their reasons.

Hmmm...Atomic Art/Permanent Impressions' training facility is in Las Vegas.

That's where many of us will be, during the ARA show.

Do the words "Field Trip" come to mind?

I spoke to Paul Harrison (Thermark) today, who urged me to come by the facility, while in Vegas.

I wonder what he'd say, if I asked if 40+ of my closest friends could join me. :-)

No promises, but I think it would be great!
