Becky,

In another thread, you mentioned that your emoticons weren't visible in your posting page.

I've attached a screen shot of my own settings. Yours are accesible by clicking My Controls/Forum Options, which in that field, you'll see your posting page settings.

Does my attachment bear any resemblance to your settings?

Edit: Ooops! Thought I had selected Becky as the recipient of this post.

Don't spend too much of your time tryin' to help me on this one. I appreciate it but I think there must be something I'm just missing.
Thanks

If/when you have problems with emoticons, make sure HTML is enabled in the message and the emoticons are visible in the "reply" window.

They will be on the lower left next to the "post" button. If you see the Emoticons line with a + next to it and no emoticons, just click on the + and they will magically appear... :D

I'm seeing emoticons in your reply. If you aren't then maybe you have HTML turned off or images turned off in your personal settings. If both are enabled in your settings, you might try hitting the Save button anyways to re-save those settings.

Becky,

How are you producing the emoticons in your posts?

Do you just know the keystrokes?

Oh for goodness sakes. I feel like a world class moron. I wasn't even looking at my actual posts once I posted them. 8-O

I thought you would see the emoticon in the response window as you are inserting them...not the character representations 8-O

That's how I am used to seeing them in my email programs >.<

I feel like such a dope :'-(

Ok, who wants first dibs on creating the first trophy for the Emoticon Challenged?!?! :O)

Thank you all for trying to help me. I am so embarrassed. :O)

Becky,

I usually look at a "preview" of my posts. It's easier to spot typos etc.

Yet another feature I always overlooked.
Did you have days when you curse the fact that your brain didn't include an instruction manual? B-)
Thanks Dave

If my brain came with an instruction manual, I would not be able to figure it out anyway.
