Tucson is home to the world's largest gem and mineral show. It's really an anything and everything rock, jewelry or any other excuse kind of show.

I came across a strand of matte onyx cut into shapes and drilled with a hole for stringing. Knowing how well my polished onyx pieces come out, I was excited to try this as well.

The result is attached - a crisp image with no variation in the rastering.
My kids always tease about wanting to try everything in the laser....now they see why I do it.

Patty,

Lookin' good!

Custom engraved necklaces, pendants etc. could be a good niche market. Depending on the diameter, custom game board pieces (checkers etc.) could be another application.

We have a friend, in your neck of the woods, who attends the show every year. The prices she's mentioned, for semi-precious stones, have been amazing deals.
