Giulioni's leadership goes a long way for me, but I take issue with some of his core values that shift him to the left (abortion for one).......I think he may be a hard guy to beat however, because I know many left of the aisle that like him because of his core value shift...I'm just not sure he represents the party base. I see him as a front runner at this point, but it would be nice to see more choices. It's extremely early to be calling winners.....
McCain is to the Republicans to what Lieberman must be to the Democrats. A black sheep gone astray........I have no trust in him doing the "right thing" for people with my core values. These two should run together and pick up all the moderates as an alternative party ;)
Hillary is a deep rooted liberal in a moderates clothing .......Obamma has an extremely liberal voting record, even though both of them are aiming towards the center to gain voters.
Far too early to tell....although I see Guilioni as the head of the pack for leadership and ability to pick up the moderate voter. It all depends on if the Grand Old Party will get behind him or not........He may lose too much of the base to win the big dance.
My hope is that someone with great leadership and character will step up to the plate for the GOP, but I'm not holding my breath. Perhaps Duncan Hunter???
Major points of interest for me in this next election.......Mouth service isn't enough any more...We need some action.
1. Border security. Obviously needed for immigration reform, and security of our country against Terrorist attacks. Lets start doing military maneuvers on the borders with live ammo...That ought to keep them back on their side of the fence.... :)
2. Immigration reform. Enough already. Lets uphold the current laws or change them the way the founding fathers allowed for change. Make it less appealing to break the law than it is to follow it. Threats without consequences are what created this problem...We need a healthy dose of consequences to fix it.
3. Iraq war. Let the military win on their terms, Don't hold them back for political correctness. Let them win the war...Don't send them home with a job half done unless THEY determine that the situation is hopeless. All the armchair Generals need not apply. Thanks,
Brian Genrich
