Okay, so we have been doing this for a little while now and have gotten the hang of putting photos on marble using Photgrav and our ULS 35 watt machine. I bought some Lasertile products from Colo Heirloom and am excited to branch into something new.

So was thinking about what I wanted to put on my first piece? Then I realized this piece is white..... my materials have always been black? Where do I start, HELP????

Also, anyone have a suggested setting for engraving photos on wood (alder)? I bought some laserthins to play with and thought I would give it try.

On black you had to invert the image so anything that needed to stay black showed as white, (non engrave).

On a white piece that darkens when lasered do not invert the image. Just like you were printing on white paper.

Other than that the tile may take a higher resolution than marble.

When you finally understand it completely... it changes.

That makes sense. I am going to give it a try. Any idea of a setting for the lasertile?

Thanks Shaddy. Very helpful. I was able to get perfect results the first time. I bought the tiles from Colorado Heirloom, I have never been to the lasertile site. Thanks for that.

No problem. I've noticed there is some leeway with the amount of power you can send at it, sending too much doesn't seem to ruin anything.

Prices seem a little better right from them. I've ordered twice with no issues, but I've heard others have had a real hard time getting in contact with them.

Some of the stock art on the site looks cool too, but wow what a price, way high.

Thanks Shaddy. I tried out my piece of lasertile and got an excellent result on my first try. I am always open to new suppliers and will likely order the sample pack from lasertile. Thanks again for the suggestion.
