Ok I just got this opportunity today to put an ad in a coupon book. It is a can't resist deal FREE!!! Free to me to put in the ad and free to the people who are going to be recieving them, serveral surrounding cities. The bank is putting this together to promote local businesses (could be they are trying to jump start the economy pretty stinky here).
Anyway here is my question, I do not have much of a lead time here to put something together for this so I was wondering what you all thought was a good coupon amount? Like $5.00 off how much of something that they purchase ...$25? $30? or more
Let me know what you all think. Deadline for this is wednesday March 21.

Debbie,
I have a "coupon" that I give away at various chamber events that is good for $10 or 10%, whichever is greater. I don't limit the bottom dollar amount because there isn't really much I can do for less than $25 or $30. Nobody has purchased anything less than $100 so far so it works pretty well for me. I have actually found they are buying more so they get the most for their 10%. If they did purchase a $25 item I would probably still make a bit on that item and I would likely have them as a customer in the future.

P.S. I don't sell on price, this is just an incentive to get them to try me. If they like me, great, if not it's no big loss.

Yes thanks for making me aware of my typo. I went back and edited it. I had the right date in there at first but then the period at the end of the sentence seemed too far away from the 1 and I hit the backspace button and must have deleted it. Thanks Debbie Gillett Laser Lady

Whew! As my kids used to say, "That is much more betterer!" I think a 10% off coupon is a good incentive.. be sure to put an expiration date on it. The discount can be on one item or all items purchased at a single transaction. Bed, Bath and Beyond sends out coupons good for 20% off ONE item or another that is $5 off ONE item. Hope this helps a bit. "Good friends can be a real annoyance."

Speaking of Bed,Bath & Beyond - here is some real customer service - did you know they honor those coupons past the expiration date AND you can use as many coupons as you want when you shop? I've used as many as 4 coupons at a time and two were expired. It's OK, they don't give you any grief at all. I think they ask that you buy one item for each coupon, but I'm not sure about that part - I had more than 4 items when I used my 4 coupons. They took 20% off each item.
