I am sorry to announce that my best friend and the inventor of the heat transfer papers Donald Hare has passed away today.
Don holds 60 plus patents for the Iron On Ink jet transfers, Thermal transfers, The peel away for dark fabrics and the list goes on.
Don,s FOTO WEAR Inc. has supplied companies such as HP, Canon, Avery, with their ink jet papers you see in the various stores like Staples, Office depot and alike.

Don and I first met when he had developed his first paper for the Thermal ribbon printer. I had asked him to make that paper fpr the old Shinko thermal printer#335 as a roll feed with sprokets. That relationship has endured through these many years and we were discussing a new paper yesterday that he was wanting to bring to market.
I am sure a lot of people don,t know of where these papers originated and the person responsible to have the vision to develope them for various technologies so we all can enjoy the rewards of those endeavors
Don and his Wife Laurie are the best and Don,s wisdom, Vision, and kindness will be solely missed.
We will all miss you Don,
AL La Costa

I'm sorry to hear of the passing of your dear friend.

Thank you for bringing his rich history, in the development of specialty papers, to our attention.
