Hi Guys,
We have received an enquiry to engrave a laptop from a startup company in Florida.

A bit way away from Adelaide Australia.

Here is the enquiry should anyone wish to look at it.

I need to have my logo engraved on a laptop computer. The material is plastic. It is the panel that is opposite the screen. In the picture below, it is silver in color. The idea is to engrave my logo on the panel (about .5" x 2") on the uppermost part of the panel. Can your company provide this service? If so, what is my cost? We are a startup based out of Miami, Fl. We are set to launch in four weeks and need this piece resolved ASAP. Your prompt attention will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

It would need to be rotary engraved, as the material likely contains PVC.

I am speculating by their website that they may be selling personalized laptops, and this may be a prototype. I could be way off with that thought, but it is a possibility.

Cynical New Yorker here....

I may have missed something, but why would someone in Florida which has no shortage of engravers go to Australia to have a small job done?

Just doesn't "smell" right to me what with the costs of shipping, insurance, etc. :S

Steve,

It does seem fishy....I agree.

I followed the link to their website. Right now it's just a "place-holder", stating that the real page is coming soon.

However, the title of the page says "Personalized mobile systems for the new you...." (or something to that effect). There's a cool graphic that implies that they'll be doing this work on computers, phones, pda's, etc. Pretty cool idea, in my book.

IF it's legit.
