Hello everyone...

I'm looking for a new source for track event ribbons.. I do about 15 meets during this time every year, and I was wondering if there was a better source than the one I'm using...

Thanks for the help!

Dixie

I use Tower Ribbons in Indiana & have been very happy. This is their rush season so I do allow more time for orders, 3 weeks I think.

Dixie,

I second the Tower Ribbons recommendation. Only problem I have with them is the "handling" part of their shipping and handling charge is excessive. I ordered about 150 ribbons and some light chains. The ribbons came from one place and the chains from another. The handling charge for the chain box was almost $6 while the shipping for the 1 lb box was $5.83.

That said their quality is high and their customer service very good and their prices reasonable and the ordering process easy.

Thanks for the recommendation... I have one of their catalogs around here, and I'll have to give them a call.

Dixie,

What is it about the source you were using, that drove you to seek another supplier?

I'm sure that info could come in handy for any business looking to retain customers.

David..

The company that I use now is known for selling to the general public, and we actually took a few of their jobs away from them (We can print ribbons, just not the track ribbons). Their pricing seemed to go up after that, which may have been a coincidence.

I was just wanting to compare prices to see if they were too high, or if I'm just cheap!! :D

Dixie,

Maybe it's time to begin making track ribbons.

Is that a difficult process?

Just takes a lead melter, typesetter, Ribbon Heat Press, inventory of zinc designs, Ribbons of many colors and sizes... Rossette Maker, Button Maker, Eyelete Press, Air Compressor, Threader....... I know I missing something..... Oh ya ...a lot of business...... did I mention...a lot of business.....

Mark,

Sounds easy enough. I already have the kitchen sink; just need the rest.
