Taken with my Pentax K100D with 18-55mm kit lens........Vivitar 285H flash with Stofen Omnibounce diffuser.

Comments appreciated..........good and bad!

I'm wondering how this photo would laser engrave.......

If you use Corel Paint, increase the contrast a little with the 'level equalization...' (n X3 Contrast equalization'). Then use 'effects/sharpen/unsharp mask' to sharpen it a bit and it will laser very well.

Really cute and well composed shot.

Hi Brian,
I love the photo and think it would engrave very nice. I would love to have that nice of a photo. Yesterday, I had a lady pull out a piece of copy paper with a photo of her son and dog on it, and it was folded in three places. It was also just printed on the paper. Needless to say, I told her she had to bring me a better photo. Preferably, the original, or sent to me as a gif or bitmap on the email.

She did leave a deposit with me, and told me she would send me a photo.

So, back to your photo. I use photograv to process my photos and this on would be very nicely done. If you use photograv, I usually always engrave at 300dpi, enhance it at between 5 and 7, and that usually give me a very nice engraving.
Good luck, the little guy is very cute. and the picture tells a thousand words.

Barbara,

As much as you like doing photos you should invest in a decent camera and flash and go for it. I have seen your work!

I am having a good time with the new dSLR....course we have 6 dogs around the house while our daughter is living with us. There are lots of photo ops....

If you are interested in any of my photos for engraving samples I would be happy to send them to you.

I can post some on my photo website if you like...

Mikey,

We're not going to make a burning issue of file sizes, but if you convert the largest dimension of your photo to 7 inches, at 72 dpi, not only will the file size come down considerably, but the image will be viewable on people's monitors, without them having to scroll, to see the entire image.

Love the pic. :-)

Sorry, when I looked at it after I posted it to see how it came out about 1/3 of the screen on my laptop so I assumed it was fine.

Do most people know how to set the automatic image resizing? Right click on Explorer-properties-advanced-scroll to multimedia and make sure the automatic image resizing box is checked.

It's OK. You thought the size was fine.

Some people either don't know how to resize an image or forget to.

The customer allowed me to use it as a display so I have a 12 inch, 6 inch and a 4x6 mounted on a 6x8 piece of tan granite
