I am making some acrylic plaques which will fit in a groove in a wood base. Knowing that wood will expand and contract I think the acrylic should be glued to the wood. The fit is fairly tight so I would just glue the bottom edge where the acrylic bottoms out in the groove. Would a two part epoxy be the best glue for this application? Thanks in advance for your response.

1. paint the bottom edge of the plaques black

2. use trophy tape on the bottom and set it into place

3. the expansion/contraction of the wood will be so minute you won't notice it

Thanks Mike. I didn't even think of tape.

use trophy tape

The regular paper trophy tape will dry out quickly and release.
I use the tape sold as superstick or tuff tape with the gold backing sold by several places. Innotec has it by the case in many widths if you need a lot.
Tesa 4970.

To fill gaps in grooves I sometimes use more than one layer.

Johnson Plastics code is the 4970xx series
Innotec just uses Tesa 4970
