I have read some recent discussion on this but the attached two files are the first time I have ran into this. The attached PDF files will not open or import into Corel X3. I get the "file corrupted" message. I can open them in Adobe Reader but can not do anything else with them. I believe Linda had the same problem using CDR 12 but was able to open in X3 - now I am
having the problem in X3.

I am using these in making some custom plaques for a ground breaking. Can anyone else get these to import or open? Is there some other way to get these files into Corel so I can resize and manipulated the way that I want.

These came from an architect- I told them how I wanted the file but I think they are dumb as a box of rocks - they have sent them to me twice this way.

Harvey and David - I know these are too big dump them if you need too or if it can wait till I get some help and then dump them that would be even better. Thanks

Joe

Joe,

One of the reasons we've stayed with this hosting company is because they increase our bandwidth every week, so file sizes aren't much of an issue anymore.

It is refusing to upload the V version. I will try attaching it to another post.

Joe:

I can't get it to do anything except open in Reader. Everything else says corrupted. That usually translates into the file being done in a recent version of AI. Ask them to save it in V7 or earlier and send it to you as an EPS as well as PDF.

Not sure that will work but I've had a little luck with it.

Harvey - Thank you. You got me where I needed to be - this is first I have run up against this one. Looks like I may need to buy the Pro version so that I can change them to eps my self.

I greatly appreciate the help.

Mike thanks for the effort - I sent them a detailed email of how I needed the file - and they sent the PDF anyway. What a bunch of egg heads.
Harvey came through by opening in the Adobe Pro 6 version and saving it to eps.

My guess is by looking at it was a CAD program that created it. I deal with several architects - most are OK this bunch is little trying to work with grade school kids. The last job I did and they sent a file they had misspellings all over the finished project. This has been an ongoing project with donations for several places for a new sports complex for our local high school. Each phase means I get to do another round of plaques and acrylics. Needless to say the architects for this were low cost bidder. :-$

I have been able to open recently made ai files in adobe reader. From there you can save copy as a pdf. It will then import in corel x3.

I opened your pdf in reader and saved copy as a different name as a pdf.
But it still shows corrupt when importing in corelx3. Maybe it is too complex or something to.

Both the original and new pdf copy I made opened in an old version of adobe 9 I have.
