I have to tell this TRUE story that just happened yesterday...

A friend of mine (practically my son) named Charlie was sitting in a convenience store in the small town of Cumby, which is about 12 miles from here. Charlie was just enjoying his day off, drinking a cup of coffee.

A guy walks into the store, buys a cup of coffee, and sits down at the table near Charlie. The stranger then strikes up a general conversation with him....weather, sports, and the usual small talk.

The stranger then lowered his voice, and told Charlie that he had some marijuana out in his car. This intrigued Charlie, so he told the stranger, "Let's go see what you've got."

When they went out to the guy's car, the stranger showed Charlie about 25 pounds of the dreaded devil weed.

Now Charlie was REALLY interested.

Did I mention that Charlie is a sergeant at the Cumby police department? 8-O

Yep....he was off-duty, out of uniform, just enjoying the day........when along came a prime candidate for WORLD'S DUMBEST CRIMINAL!!

He wouldn't tell....

My theory is that the guy probably actually had 50 pounds. Charlie only admits to seeing 25. >.<

What an awesome story. I just can't believe people are so stupid sometimes. I bet he was sorry for striking up that conversation.

Don't know how he kept a straight face. I'd be giggling all the way out to the guy's car. :P

Now if only we could get customers to throw themselves at us the way the criminals are throwing themselves at Charlie! :B

Don't you mean another misdemeanor charge in the books? That type of offense isn't likely to land him in jail very long, if at all. That is a sad fact.

Having of a small amount might be a light sentence. Selling, and having 25 pounds is going to be a lot more severe.
