You can also manually snipe auctions. I used to do that when I was buying thing regularly on ebay, back in the "old" days (the 90s in this case). Even on dialup.

With cable/DSL it's a lot easier. With dialup you have to account for the extra delays. I would basically hit refresh while watching my watch and then look at the time remaining once the page showed up. With a little practice you could predict exactly when to hit the button and have a few seconds left at the end of an auction. Then I would place a bid using that timing and the bid would go in during the last few seconds. Because of the delays in dialup I had to account for about 30 seconds extra. But I still managed to get one bid in during the last 2 seconds of an auction using dialup back then.

You do have to bid high enough to beat any other snipers, but it does prevent others from seeing your bid and raising it. They have to be just as serious and want it more than you. A lot of people like sniping because it doesn't give the other bidders time to think about your bid and decide if they really want to raise it some more.

Thanks for everyone's input. We have a winner. Actually we might two winners. We have a very nice young man in Florida who is going to be expanding into sublimation in the future. He is sending this lady a check for the equipment. We also have another fellow from the upper midwest that will be talking to her about coming and getting the rest of her stuff. I think everyone will be happy with what they get out of the deal. I got a digital scale that will weigh items up to 5 lbs. It is currently collecting dust next to the bread making machine we got a few years ago. (It still won't compete with the Nordic Trak in my bathroom. That thing is the best dust collector I have ever seen.

Epilog Mini 25 Watt Laser For Sale

As good as new - purchased March 2006 direct from Epilog. Used sparingly for hobby, not full-time business. Comes in original packaging (box and shipping foam) with complete instruction manual.

Non-intimidating tool capable of cutting thin veneers with precision for marquetry, hardwoods in excess 1/4" for intarsia, balsa for model airplanes, as well as rastering to 1200 dpi. And of course, engraving various surfaces.

Originally purchased as the primary tool for a side business making crafts and selling at local craft shows (and as a fun toy). New jobs provide less free time and increased job satisfaction limits motivation.

Features:
- Auto focus
- Red dot pointer
- Vector grid
- Laser networking capabilities

Specifications:
- Maximum engraving area: 18" x 12"
- Size: 27.5" wide x 23" deep x 12.5" high
- Weight: 70 lbs (32 kg)

See pictures below. Feel free to request any pictures/sample cuts (seansarmast-laser@yahoo.com). Please allow for evening responses.

$8,000 + insured shipping to your location from northern Colorado. Originally shipped via Bax Global from Epilog in Golden, Colorado.

Jim,

I see a few possibilities. Use OEM laser transfer process to apply the images to the antler, then epoxy-coat.

Look in the digital imaging/dye sub folder to read about that process.

Mick Eminger is our local expert and supplier of products for that process. See his Cactus Equipment ad in our "Special Deals" section, located at the top of this page.

If the epoxy coating itself can stand up to 375-400 degrees, full color sublimation, directly into the epoxy coating would be possible.

If your epoxy finish can't take the heat, there are self-coating solutions that will stand the heat and create a very dye-receptive finish.

Jim Cagnina, owner of Coast Graphic Supply (CGS), is always on the lookout for unique sublimatable items. He also has a couple of the self-coating options I mentioned.

I'm sure he'd be willing to work with you, in "making it work."

Coast Graphic Suply is also one of our "Special Deal" suppliers.

As some of you know, my Dad died February 27. I'm helping my Mom clear out some of Dad's engraving things. (yes I took what I wanted B-) ) I know that the last time the machine was used was December 11, 2006 and he closed the business Dec.31 (he tried to stay busy up to the end).

Hermes model ITF-II serial number 81668 - I think it was manufactured in 1981 - Hermes would only say between 1980-1982) He only had two fonts - looks like a Helvetica style - single line 5/8" and 2 1/2" complete set. I haven't counted all the cutters but there are many, some are used, others haven't been used since he had them resharpened. He even wired the machine to a foot control - on/off switch.

Hermes 12" shear with plastic blades he probably purchased this with the machine. Don't know when it was last resharpened.

He also use to do vacuum formed signs. Have the complete alphabet and numbers (aluminum) in 1", 2", 3", 4".

We haven't set a price on anything. Just make us an offer if you are interested in anything - you will pay shipping from Topeka, KS. (unless you want to come and pick it up.)

I am Perry Brock and my PM is pbrock1@msn.com. The items are in my shop in Lynchburg, TN.

The cup press is the DK3 and the flat press is the 1416 Digital Combo Press with the unused plate atachment. I bought it because attachments can be added for caps and other things to make it more versatile. Together they both list for over $1800.00 new before the plate attachment is added.

The Epson 1280 is presently set up using the Sawgrass Power Driver IQ 1280. I have the disk.

You can call me at 931-759-7707.
