Carl,

I have DRAWings Professional vers. 2.2, I bought it through Digital Art Solutions (Smart Designs) - If you sweet talk them, they will throw in some additional software and updates in the package. The few times I have needed tech help, they have either been available immediately or call back in a few hours. Good Peoples! They will be in Vegas and hopefully will be demonstrating DRAWings - it's fun to watch them do MAGIC right in front of your eyes.

I have to agree with everything Uncle Steve said. We have an embroidery business and if my hubby that can't even use a computer can learn to run the machine, so can you :) We outsource all of our digitizing to an excellent digitizer. I do edit designs and do lettering and monograms myself.

As Uncle Steve pointed out, you have a ready made clientele with your trophy business.

Anthony,

My daughter just got one. Maybe she'll let me use it. :-)

Thanks for the explanation of the abundance mentality.

I think it's the nature of this forum, in that, instead of thinking that everyone we give ideas to, will use them against us, in the way of increased competiton, we just want to see our friends be successful.

There's plenty of business out there for everyone. :-)

In our Wilcom digitizing software we can convert most True Type fonts to embroidery files. It works very well about half the time. We always try it first and if the results are not useable we digitize the lettering. There are a few other programs that will convert TTF's but none with the quality results like Wilcom. As for "Bailey Script," I have a font called Bailey but it is more of a handwriting than a script.

Michael
from what I've been told Wilcom write alot of the 'Machine Specific' software, the frontend has just been changed to Manufacturers Specs.
Barudan Punchant Software is Rebadged Wilcom. Janome Digitizer 10000 Home embroidery Software was written by Wilcom. Most software have different levels and 'Options' that can be purchased seperately. The higher the level, the more expensive. Cheap software may have the options, but the stitch quality may not be as good, and ultimately cost more in production with increased thread breaks and poor stitch registration.
With Wilcom (and I'm sure the other big ones) you can start ofF with the entry level, and upgrade later to the next level when you are comfortable. All you will pay for the upgrade will be the difference in price between the two levels. ie if you have level A and it cost you $2000, and level B costs $3000.00, for you to upgade to level B will cost $1000. There is no time frame on this either. You could upgade two years later, and it will only cost what the difference is at the time. (At least thats how it works here in Australia, and I'm sure thats how it would work elsewhere)

Not to get off topic, but I had a somewhat similar experience with Tajima, Toyota and SWF. The Barudan rep called me and kept in touch for almost 18 mos after my DH got hurt and I had to put off buying my machine - no one else did (however since I bought the first machine I haven't heard from him ) I couldn't get a response out of Toyota, so I put a comment on the Toyota forum - got a call from the VP of sales himself within a day :) Both Toyota and Tajima have undergone major restructuring in the past year, so I am surprised that you aren't getting a response from Toyota. I have just never been in an industry where the sales force can be so bad and still sell machines.

I thought there might be some type of dense material behind the embroidery. Is there a substantial difference in charge for this type of embroidery? It seems like it would be more labor intensive.
