I'm new to EE, but in the business for about 9 years. Found out about this through a salseman. Anyway, the room's booked, the flights booked and I'll be at ARA Las Vegas for the first time. Look forward to meeting some of you!

Garry,
Welcome to the forum from a former Iowan. I know your turf very well. We usually stop for lunch in Clive to break up our family trips to and from Cedar Rapids, where most of my family still lives.

Garry - Which rep gave you the tip about the forum - one of my reps also covers Iowa - just wondering if it was him.

Hey, don't forget about us. Diane and Rob Bosworth of ACCESS Business Solutions, Inc. We haven't figured it all out yet, but we will be there. I think we are going to try to stay downtown this year. Seems like we have tired everything else, so why not downtown. Maybe next year will be Bullhead City. See you there. We'll be the good looking couple.

Rob,
We'll keep an eye out for the two of you, although there's an extremely off-chance, there will be another good looking couple in town that week. :P

I'm not sure if you are adding vendors only to the list but I will be at the show (first time) and am looking forward to it. I would love to meet all of you and get together. If it's a vendors only kind of thing, I will see you at the show.
Thanks

Rebecca,
By all means. Come one, come all! The current list is a mix of vendors and "regular" people as well. :-)
Looking forward to seeing you there.

So how do we distinguish ourselves as EE members? Is there a secret handshake or something? LOL

You can usually recognize a fellow member by the goofy smile on their face. If that doesn't work, we have a secret greeting: three cartwheels, followed by a loud "hooty whoo!".
;-)
There's been some talk about a nametag design just for EE members, but nothing's been finalized yet.

All right, but if I throw my back out doing these cartwheels, there's gonna be heck to pay.
And it was a "hooty whoo" right?

Rebecca,
We haven't formalized a badge design. Last year, a few of us just made our own.
Faro USA furnished some nice pewter pins that we wore during the show. The pins were handed out at the Faro USA booth, which "forced" us to look at their offerings, which, by the way, were quite nice. :-)
I'll see if we can arrange something with Faro USA this year.

Um...for that matter, what is a "plt" file? Sorry, but I'm still getting to know all this stuff.

plt is Hewlett Packard Plotter Language. Most modern engravers import this file. Corel Draw does also.
CMX is Corel Metafile Xchange, (I saved them in version 5, older version). Most graphics programs can import this file, it is native of Corel so that can import it also.
I can convert it to any format that Corel can export.

Is that a challenge ;-) Are we only official members if we can do the "three cartwheels, followed by a loud "hooty whoo!"?? You know David likes a challenge...........that's why he's the "Stunt Engraver". :-)

Zona,
I surely enjoy a challenge, but I'll have to admit, at this stage in my life, I'm only good for the "hooty-whoo!" :-)
