Franklin...I am supporting the WOE because I think it's being unfairly criticized. I would do the same for the EE if the shoe was on the other foot.
We aren't living in the first two months of the WOE existance....The forum has moved on and hasn't really stopped back to worry about the EE forum. I wish the EE forum would do the same about the WOE.
If I wanted to plug the WOE forum I would have been more blatant...Talking about the specific features etc...I said throughout the thread that I thought that would be crossing the line.....and I won't go there. Besides, I like them both as I said before, I just don't like that this forum tends to attack the other all the time.
Whatever the WOE was created for changed when someone uploaded a bunch of porn. For whatever reason, that became a decision that changed the direction of that forum forever. It's history....it's a pay site now....We all have to live with it. Again.....old news.....no point in reliving it, or arguing about the decision. That time is past.
Franklin, besides what your sig says, you're clearly a cynic, and I highly doubt I will ever be able to change your mind. That's ok. Your solution to all your problems with the inception of the WOE forum is simple. If you dislike everything about it, don't join. No one is forcing anyone. It's just another venue like this one.....They both have their pro's and con's.
Problem solved.........no?
My complaints here were about the constant pick pick picking about anything negative that can be found. This simple popup "decision" is just a current example......Instead, competition should be embraced as something good for the consumers. It keeps people/forums/businesses from becoming fat and lazy, and too comfortable with the status quo.

Well I guess we are not seeing the same group forums here, because it was as little as a few weeks ago that I read a thread slamming on David.
I do have to catch myself though because one of my statements was about what I believed was you just a few weeks ago coming on bragging about the chat room over in WOE. Was I wrong on that? If it wasn't you, then I am sorry, I got my messages crossed. HOwever, if I was right and it was you that started that thread, then you did do the blunt "specific features" promo. Like I said, I second guess myself on that one now and am sorry if I pointed the finger in the wrong direction.
One reason that I am leary about the way this has all went down is because I have had to learn alot about business the hard way by getting screwed over and seeing close freinds get screwed over, so to see all of this play out the way it is makes me question the ethics behind WOE. With all of these deceptions and half truths, I see the potential for disaster. I have made some friends in here and don't want to see them get shafted. It goes way beyond me. Best way to make me mad is to screw with my friends and family.
Healthy cinisism keeps you focused and doesn't allow deceptive people with alterior motives to manipulate you into giving up something.

Oh my god, I have a 6 year old and a 4 old...BOTH of whom are better at resolving conflict and differences of opinion that some of the so called adults in this thread.... (devil)
Time for everyone to check their egos at the door and get back to the business of helping people...Remember that folks?!?! That's why we are all here....TO HELP ONE ANOTHER!!! :O)
Threads like this cultivate feelings of negativity and hostility..neither of which helps us achieve our goals of being a positive resource for the engraving community...a goal we BOTH share!!!
Get over yourselves and move on....... ;-)

You're right about the chat room....but it was longer ago than a few weeks....I believe that it over a month if not longer. I learned from that experience, and decided that I wouldn't discuss specific differences about there over here, as it was difficult for some people to swallow.
Even though I saw it differently because the EE didn't support chat rooms at the time. Some called that thread wrong, so I stopped altogether. The only posts that I have made about the woe here (since then) is when there is nitpicking going on. I saw this thread as opportunistic nitpicking, and I felt that it needed to be brought up for discussion.
I would rather just see neither be mentioned in a negative light on the other at this point since I belong to, and like both.

I'll leave the decision of what to do with this thread up to Harvey.
I've always been against deleting messages/threads.
Some see this type of thread as a huge disruption to the forum, although from the many posts I've read, upon entering the site this morning, it's one of many and probably the least interesting.
In fact, I made a point to read this one last.
Reports of personal attacks on myself from other forums, readily roll off my back. After seven years of participating in online forums, I feel I'm battle-tested.
In the words of my friend, John Fish, "People will be people." :-)

I have to agree with you. But I do find some of the posts humorous and totally ridiculous, but your right about people being people.
As far as personal attacks, I try to take a more civilized approach on WOE and will not tolerate that type of childish behavior. So rest assured you are not being attacked on WOE, actually the last mention about EE was when Harvey was giving updates on when you would be back up.
I have to admit, when WOE was started it was a clone of EE, but it has evolved into a more structured business oriented forum that our members seem to prefer. So I can understand why some of the EE members don't like it and prefer the wild west format.
But at the end of the day both forums have a need and a goal to help the members.

The "wild west format", not that it was ever a format, has greatly diminished.
As to a person's preference, that's why there are 31 flavors. :-)

Did you notice the folder I put the thread into? It was a slightly better solution than deleting it, I think.
