He has registered and is wading through the over 65,000 post that are here already.
Give him time to get his feet wet and he will see what a benefit it can be to Gravograph.

Harvey,
I happened upon Randy, of Gravograph, at one of my customer's shops today.
He asked for another EE biz card and claims he'll join the discussions.
We'll see. :-)

Maybe for the next show you can make up badges for suppliers that says:
"We support Engraving Etc." ;-)

I wish our suppliers would realize the power the forum gives us to communicate both the good and the bad about our suppliers. IMHO they would be wise to assign someone to read the forum on a regular basis. They could answer our machine questions, listen to our wants and needs and answer in a timely manner. What is the worst that could happen to them? They could improve their machines, improve their product lines, make new friends and gain some respect from 1600+ members of this community. Did I say worst? Sounds like a win to me.
Dee - your above paragraph is excellent. :'D This week I placed my first order with one of the companies that has shown support to this forum. Reports from forum members has been excellent about this company. I would have normally went with another company that I was successful with, but due to the forum reports and this companies particapation I have taken a step to work with them. Needless to say I will let the forum know how it goes.
I am totally amazed why more companies do not participate here. :/

Maybe I'm just getting old in my forgetful age.... :-& .....but I thought that Innotec Tape had a forum special. Did I just imagine that? I remember Judy participating in the forum some time back, so maybe that's what's making me think they had a "special".

Steve,
I hope they're not expecting epoxy-domed, framed badges. >.<
Of course that comment is based on rampant participation, in which case, they'd qualify for the deluxe badges. :-)

Joe,
While at the ARA show, I was campaiging for more industry supplier participation. One company representative made a good point, as to why they don't become involved with online forums.
Some forums are industry-supplier-unfriendly, and at times, downright hostile.
I assured them that we welcome supplier participation and it would only be unethical companies or scam artists, that would be on thin ice here.
It was with that assurance that we saw the recent participation of David Wilhite, from Universal Laser Systems, who was very helpful in explaining the functions of their product.
We also saw Kimberly, from Ikonics, jump in with helpful information on IKONMetal.
This forum provides a sounding board for the entire industry. Some companies may not like what they hear, though, for the most-part, it's honest feedback from their customers.
Worth a listen. Wouldn't you say?

Cody,
I think Judy came around before our "Special Deals" banner ad offer.
If she were an ardent EE reader, she would have known of our offer.
As I say, "Miss a Little and you Miss a Lot."

Just seems to me that some are missing a strong market base and free market research here! Needless to say the scamers will not only be on thin ice we will give them a push. Although we always have to be sure that a scam is a scam otherwise we eat CROW. (devil)

Cody,
Just between you & me ;-), you should definitely handle this order the old-fashioned way and pick up the telephone.
Innotec's number is (800)776-7194.
Things may have changed in the last several months but as of October '06, the Innotec folks were having difficulty replying to emblaze &/or messages left via webbiest.
I know you well enough to know that if things have changed and you have good luck with them, you'll let everyone know!

Actually, I think there is a fair respresentation of suppliers and distributors that participate in the laser side in this forum and similar forums. I know that we have Mike and Trevor from southern California, representing ULS. The Brewers of Texas. Peck, before his big promotion, from Epilog. Dave from ULS. And of course, let's not forget those wonderful folks at ACCESS =:) . Didn't we have Thom from Atomic Art (who is probably still licking his wounds from the last go around.)
I do not read many of the other topic folders, so I do not know about those suppliers.
Looks like US laser guys shine again B-) B-) B-) B-) B-) :O)

We'll have our new stuff next week.
Now if I can just get my spending under control again....... >.<

Slightly off topic but on topic for the way the thread has evolved:
At the Atlantic City ARA show yesterday we were walking the aisles and Harvey and I both saw various sized mini baseball bats that were laser engraved. Sounds like a thread I have seen before under the "where can I find" folder.
Spoke to a pleasant young lady (at my age they are ALL young ladies! ;-) ) and is seems the manager (sales manager?) left the company and she is now the person in charge.
Spoke about getting involved with the forum and she seemed very interested/excited with the idea of a new advertising medium to contact ~1600 engravers at little or no cost.
I ramble a bit because this company has been recommended as a source for other products, specifically gavels, and no mention of their extensive line beyond the gavel.
The name of the company? The Gavel Company, of course. Watch for a new member shortly after the show....
Four/five sizes of bats including half cut for mounting flat on a plaque.

Dee -
My wife has contacted Leather Treaty directly. We'll be in touch with them again next week.
We simply don't need to wait until the end of April to be able to offer them to certain select customers (their merchandising season has already started). This item gives us a new avenue for wholesale (or close) sales.

Hi Dee,
That Canadian company Cody named is just few city blocks away from me (about 5-6 miles), but I don't know anything about bracelets you are talking about. Can you please describe this product.

They are leather bracelets, dog tags, luggage tags, cell phone hanger dangers and keychains that can be rotary or laser engraved. The leather is double layered (like flex) so when you engrave through the second layer comes up. Since we are in a mall I see them as a great product for the teen market.
