David,
I noticed that the once-popular excuses (to get out of serving) weren't working for the majority of people.
School teachers were told to call the school and inform them they'd need substitutes for the period of their duty.
If I hadn't been given a pass, I would have done my part.
Maybe the judge determined he didn't need a wise-ass on the panel. :-)
I'd actually like to serve on a jury. It would just have to be limited to a few days or a week, tops.

On the summons to jury duty Harv received it asked if you were self-employed.

So was mine... and they still wanted me to serve. I told them to postpone it for 6 months..... permitted for a first postponement.
We will see what happens in June....

To get this thread back on track, the recipient of the inukshuk gift liked it so much she requested that I make one for her assistant. :-)EDITED: 16 Feb 2007 by DATAKES
